I know you’re probably tired of seeing Avo Toast now but let’s put it in a kiddy context. Serving avocado to children offers numerous advantages, as they provide abundant vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients. They are also rich in healthy fats, which are essential for growing kids and packed with fibre which helps to keep the digestive system moving (good for kids who can be prone to constipation).

Surprisingly, rye bread also has it’s benefits for the respiratory health of children. Rye has been proven to significantly reduce the chances of developing childhood asthma. Research conducted at a number of school showed that those children who regularly had grains, like rye, in their diet, were more than 60% less likely to develop childhood asthma than those children who didn’t have grains in their diet. 

Ingredients

2 avocados
1 slice of Rye cut in half
Sea salt

Method

Cut the Rye bread in half and toast
Meanwhile smash up two avocados and mix with a little salt
Spread evenly onto toast and serve!
